Where I live in E. Oregon, everybody that I know that has a bike is a member of the working class. What I use to determine who I will ride is attitude. I will ride with most anybody as long as they have a good attitude about what they are doing. Saves on arguments that way.
Will ride with anyone until they prove themselves an @sshole (not a likeable @sshole). Don't know any RUBS , except for a Brother in law , everyone else had to finance their ride as I did .
I like to ride with folks who don't care if I'm a RUB or a 1%er. I like to ride with folks who Love to ride. Some are rich, some are poor like me. What does it matter? If someone is being unsafe I drop back and let them be unsafe. Life is too short, friends are too few, and opportunites too limited to be overly selective about who is a worthy riding partner.
I have been riding motorcycles since I am 6 years old. I'll be 40 in February. I ride a nice shiny Street Glide in clean clothes. I own tons of Harley gear, shirts, hats, doo-rags, boots, wallet, leather, etc. I only ride in fair weather. I polish my chrome incessantly. I wax my bike weekly. I buy at least one item every weekend at one of 2 or 3 great Harley shops I visit. I make about $100K annually.
Am I a R.U.B.? Maybe, but after all these years the desire for a Harley was finally quenched in 2005 and was well worth it. Label me what you must, just know I enjoy the **** out of my 2007 Street Glide and I just enjoy riding, period. I appreciate a pretty bike and I certainly respect a well maintained bike.
Nah I ain't no friggin R.U.B.... I am an enthusiast.
I agree. I dislike labels too. I like to think I am more complicated than one person's interpretation of who I am.
I am many things: a wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, finder of lost things, laundress, dish washer, cook, general housekeeper, psychologist, psychiatrist, physician, consoler, bitch, goddess, practical and resourceful person, sex kitten, full time employee, truck driver, biker ... to name a few.

After the post about did you finance your bike or pay cash thread, now if you did your a RUB! I guess! (her we go again)I do not get to ride to work everyday because I have to pick up my 7 year old daughter everyday after work, and the 3 year old sometimes. My riding is limited in spring and fall with little league softball, which means I place supporting her before riding. Am I judged by my priorities so be it! It is my life and my choices. Even so I managed 13,000 miles between my old metric and the Deuce in 18 months, so should I consider telling everyone I met about miles, which some on here consider before anything else.
