Ride with RUB's?
I think that anybody that can lay down approx. 20k for a bike wheather cash or financed could be considered rich! I am sure that HD inc. has some sort of demographic profile as to the median income of new Harley purchasers. I would like to know what that number is. I would venture to guess, in comparison to the national average income, us HD owners are WELL above average.
I bought my first Harley last summer (an 03 Heritage). I have logged over 3,000 miles in about 4 months for whatever thats worth. My yard is suffering, and I have not picked up my golf clubs since I bought the bike! I have even stopped watching much TV and now spend most of my time surfing bike sites on the web & planning road trip vacations. I am even considering hiring a groundskeeper so I can have more free time to ride. (I do NOT own a single item of HD aparel) I wonder if I am a RUB? I certainly fit the profile I guess even though I live out in the country. I wonder what kinda label would have been placed on me if I had not found a great deal on my Heritage and opted for a slightly used BMW K1200LT instead? One more thing...if there is rain in the forecast I drive my Mercedes to work and leave the Heritage in the garage!
Don't know any 'fair weather' riders. My cousin is rich, but he has an Aero and is using it for work conveyance, so he is not a true RUB. I'm an UMR (Upper Middleclass Redneck).
Got me a new label. I'm no longer a redneck, I'm CRACKER-AMERICAN.[sm=usa.gif]

If you decide to share my lane....... I'll ride with ya. ( Until I decide not to. )
And if yur on the side of the road........ I'm stopping for ya, with a few simple tools and a cell phone to offer.
I dont plan many "Group Rides".... if it happens, I may join.
Most planned trips are with wife and/or Inlaws. ( They have a decked out Wing. )
I support all that "Help" our Sport with their Support and participation. ( No matter how small. )
That said.......
On my last Trip w/Inlaws, we were on the Interstate in Alabama somewhere and we were passed by a SCOOTER !
I had to hang my head !
( I ride Tail to the Inlaws...... yeah, thats it! )
Who knew those little jobs could work up a head of steam like that... he had to be doin 70mph.
Anyways..............
Budds.................

NYC Riding is hard core.
Watch the POT HOLES and crack addicts at the lights.

If we pass...... I'll wave. ( Unless I'm preoccupied.)

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
I know several riders who will make a 350 mile run for lunch. (and another 350 back) We will take any excuse to go riding and often we don't even need an excuse.
