Default This is becoming a problem...

not having my parents know that I have a Harley. Every time I need to over there it seems that Scootergrrl has the car. I won't ride the Harley to their house as a method of avoiding this issue with them. I know how incredibly codependent and sick this is, but I would rather not deal with their ridiculous bs regarding this matter. This has been happening more and more as my sister had this beautiful baby as where before I rarely went to their house. I know I need to just get honest and let them know, but then they wanna know where I got the money...And on and on and on...Any suggestions of how to do this. I have been historically very bad with situations such as this...Thanks.[&:]

aren't you an adult and live on your own?

hell, I could care less what my parents think. Its my life and my money.

I respect their opinion, but they don't pay my bills.

I think it is time to tell them, face to face. They will find out sooner or later, so sooner and on your terms is always better. A long time ago when I got my first bike (Honda CB500T) I arrived home from work and must have had an s'eating grin on my face. My mother asked me what was going on and I told her I had bought a "bike." When asked if it was a 10-speed, I replied "No, it only has 5." After getting over the initial jaw drop, I told her that I had bought a motorcycle. When good ol' Dad got home, my mother told him that "Your son bought a motorcycle." Dad looked at me and said "It's your ***" and that was that. 27 years later I'm still riding.

I hope that your revelation goes as smooth, but better to tell them and get it over with.

As dad, I would say you need to come clean with them. As the survivor of a resent crash and burn I say, tell them before you have to call from the hospital and explain to them how you got busted up in a bike wrack.

As far as the money goes, I'm sure you work and I'm sure you have good credit so why not buy what you want. They maybe a little pissed, but I'm sure they won't kill you over it and in the long run they'll like it a lot more if your honest with them.

They knew of my bikes before. It has been a few years since I had one. I have decided I need to tell them due to BH's remark...LOL

That could be why he's avoiding them.Or he borrowed money to redo the house & bought the bike instead
