Should I just spend the $ for the 1 piece electric heated suits? If this is the only solution for quick and warm, which one is the best bang for the money?

I just refuse to stop riding because of winter....I live in North GA and we see some 0 degree temps at times.
GA LOL - That's year round riding weather... Move up to the North East...

My cold weather recipe for North 'Bammy:

Full face helmet with visor

Balaclava

Tourmaster overpants

Cold weather riding jacket

Gerbings heated jacket liner and gloves

Soft lowers for the Road Couch

Every bit of that gets stuffed in the saddlebags for the ride home because it's usually warmed up 40 degs or so.

My cold-weather gear for Maryland (around DC):

Half helmet
Ear covers (the fleece ones that extend. . .mine are Gorgonz I got while working at Lowe's)
Leather jacket with liner
2 pairs of thermal liners w/ fleece-lined gauntlets
Wolverine boots (Gortex/Thinsulate 600g and steel toe)

Yes, the steel toe gets a little chilly. I ride about 45 minutes going around 70-80. I'd recommend that if you have contacts, use a face shield. Riding at around 9F one day I swear my contacts froze and I couldn't focus on anything. Got to a stop light, closed my eyes for about 30 seconds and everything re-focused. :-\

The trick is, once you go numb you don't have to worry about anything. Though I'd recommend taking coffee to work with you in the morning so you can thaw out.

Snowmobile gear. Coveralls, mittens, and good boots. Easy on, easy off, and really warm.

Mittens? You mean fingerless mittens right?

I prefer the full-fingered ones myself!
It is hard to pick my nose with them on, though.

That's what we wear around here for coldest weather riding. They're inexpensive and get the job done.

I bought a pair of HD's heated gloves. I would've bought the vest too but it wasn't in the budget. Buying the gloves was about the best 150.00 bucks or so I've spent on the bike. It is hard to describe how much of a difference just having warm hands makes. If you have a limited budget gloves are the way to go. Of course the windshield with 3/4 helmet with face shield helps too. Once the hands are warm the torso can just be layered up with fleece or whatever.
