If you're getting cold in your boots and quilted coverall's(I wear Carharts) then it's time to add some electrics.......boot insoles, gloves, pants should do it.....works for me.......
I'm looking for some winter riding suit recommendations. I commute an hour to work in the mornings and no matter how many layers I've tried putting on, I get cold for a couple months out of the year. I also hate spending 15 minutes putting on and taking off layers and undergarments. What do you guys use that works?
Should I just spend the $ for the 1 piece electric heated suits? If this is the only solution for quick and warm, which one is the best bang for the money?
I just refuse to stop riding because of winter....I live in North GA and we see some 0 degree temps at times.
When I lived in Missouri and was real hardcore and not to mention stupid for riding in 20deg or colder weather I wore a 1 pc coverall style snowmobil suit worked great
man, i am stunned this hasn't turned into a "chaps are gay" thread. Well, it probably still will. Anyways, here's my cold weather gear. Long johns and chaps, flannel under denim under my leather jacket, and heated gloves. A full face helmet is a must. That being said, your way tougher than me 'cause there ain't a snowballs chance in hell i'm riding my motorcycle when its zero degrees outside. The guys i know that actually do that type of cold weather riding all have snow mobile suits and/or electric pants and jackets. Just make sure if you do go that route that you have a good electrical system or plan to upgrade it now, while its still warm outside.
Leather overalls (bibs) with a couple of layers under them. (Underarmor thermals) Snowmobile gloves, leather sheep skin lined aviators cap or fullface helmet. Your choice for face protection. I like the neoprene masks used for skiing.
Heated wear - Harley, Gerbings - what ever. What cold? Once you plug in you'll wonder why you never did it before! EZ to put on, you'll find yourself putting it on most of the time. Only turn it on when needed. The down side is that your body won't remained hardened to the elements. The up side is you'll be warm!
