motor knocking

okay here'sthe problem .2002 roadking 30k miles I have a knocking in the crank case .I've had people say synthetics made their bike knock ,so I went back to HD oil .That did'nt help.Checked the primary chain tension nope not that . Now i hear there is a nut on the crank that can back off 1/4 turn and cause cause the knock.The guy said it's under the timing cover ,took that off and don't see anything . HELP !!! with Christmas coming momma says I can't spend $ on repairs.The sound is definitly coming from the front crank housing.

Going out on a limb a little here, but just for the halibut, you sure it's not a broken front motor mount makin the racket?

wishfull thinking but it's coming from inside the motor.Had a manual but screwed up and lent it out then it grew wings and isn't where he put it last.

FYI, no oil causes mecanical problems......lack of oil or really dirty oil causes mechanical problems. You better get that bike to the shop ASAP.

the nut is on the other side had a couple of friends had the same noise just retighten the nut and every thing is ok
