Just be careful when you're doing this. If you haven't read this, put down your coffee (or whatever) so it doesn't get sprayed on your computer, and check out the story of a man who got Herculiner on his hootus.

I used a rattle can. Very easy to achieve good results.

My first bike was a denim sportster which I loved because of the low maintenance. My RK is gloss black and while it looks great when it's washed and waxed I absolutely hate having to wax it every time after I wash it to have it look nice. Next spring I think I'm definitely going to remove the tins and paint everything myself. Thanks to everyone who has shown pictures and given advice, what a relief. I just love to ride but hate to clean.

You should try http://www.spray-lining.com for their DIY kit. You can do it yourself on all the parts you want to cover and the quality is right up there with Rhino and Line-X, except you can put it on yourself instead of paying a dealer to do it for you at a huge price, and you can get the color you want with expert technical support to walk you through the process. All you need is the air compressor. Good luck with it.
