Default Installing security system?

Went to the dealer and wanted to purchase the security sytem, smart siren II, and the Pager for my 07 night train. He said he would sell it to me but I would have to trailer it to the dealer because it would not run as it had to be mated to the ECM with their computer. I thought it was pretty much plug and play and follow setup instructions to install a passcode with the turnsignals and such

Is this true or can I do it myself without any problems? If so please tell me how!

Sounds like Stealer BS to me but I don't know about an 07' but on my 06' RK it was a very simple installation and can't see where it would be any different on an 07'. I think he just looking to steal more money out of your pockets. By the way I bought my Smart Siren II and Pager II from Zanotti's at a little over 20% off and no tax.

Is it because I need the initial security system? Did you install the whole setup or just add the siren and pager?

It has to be mated. If not ... when the bike was stolen ... all you would have to do is remove the security module.
