Default Help please!!!

How is everyone doing? My name is Randy and I just purchased my first Harley.. My question is what is the easiest way to make my Sporty into a Sporty Softtail... I know I can purchase a custom frame; but will all of my parts interchange.. I know rear wheel tire and back accesories wont but will the rest? I really appreciate all the info I can get; on how to customize my new scooter...

Welcome to the site. May I suggest introducing your self to the folks over on the Sportster threads and challenge those guys and gals. Good luck.

Welcome.
You can certainly build whatever you want, but I need to ask the question, why? Other than a desire to have something different?

Welcome to the forum. If that's what you intend to do, you have a REAL project on your hands. Best to you.

Welcome to the forum. The "easiest" way would be to sell the sporty and buy a softail.

Perhaps an aftermarket frame maker makes a softail frame for a Sportster.

There were a lot of softail sporsters at Laughlin a couple years ago. Or maybe three or four years ago. Don't know if the companies have survived but a search might get you the info you want. This year it was sportsters with off road stuff.

I agree.
Especially if you are big Randy. Or even small.
I love Sportsters, but the Softail is already sorted out.

Just buy a Softtail and U won't have all the money invested that Ur going to lose trying to change it to look like on.

Plus U won't have all the issues doing it.

There may be some frames out there that accept the Sportster engine/tranny combo, but the're gonna be hard to find compared to those that'd accept an Evo/tranny combo, so you've gotta ask yourself why you want the Sporty powertrain instead of the latter. And in Burns -- dude, EVERYTHING will have to be shipped to your door!!!
