Personally, I've always thought that a RK was a big boys or bigger softail,(think about it) but whenever I say that it really pisses the RK guys off.. I'm glad that you think so too.

Road King Classic for me. All day long. Had a 2004 and loved it.

I chose the King and have never regretted it!

I have since put on the Heritage style bars, Sundowner seat, adjustable backrest, tourpak with wrap around backrest and passenger grabrails for the wife. She loves the floor boards and comfort of the seating. While I still LOVE the sportiness of the Heritage the Road King has exceeded ALL of my expectations! It's a tough choice to make.
You hit the nail on the head right there Jeffrey. If I go with the RKC I will either put on some beach bars like the ones on the RKCustom or the Heritage bars.
I don't know if anyone's sat on a Heritage lately but those bars and that seat - the way the passenger seat hits you right in the lower back for support- is one comfortable place to be. This is what started the whole mess.

From a woman's point of view, the Heritage is the same bike as the Lux, just change the bars, seat, shock and add the bags, you have a Heritage with a nicer tank badge. The RKC is beautiful and will give that wonderful floating ride. I'm looking to trade/sell my 2011 Lux. I just don't like it. so, I'm looking and all the pros on that RKC is tempting to me.

Are you going to keep the Lux, then its a no brainer, get the RKC for a second.

Road King. You get the looks the ride, weather proof bags and cruise control too. Easy choice if you are touring at all.

I hated that when I rented one. Ended up pulling the passenger seat and stuffing it in the saddle bag half way thru the ride.

I had the same issue trying to decide between the two scoots. I rented each one for a weekend and then there was no question. Changed the bars and added the Sundowner seat. Good to go.
Love my RKC!

The ride on the RK is superior to the Softail regardless of which model IMHO.
