I rode 400+ miles last weekend in upper 30 degree temps. That wouldn't have been a consideration if I didn't have heated gear.

Thanks ...I have a heated jacket liner and gloves from Warm & Safe and must agree I love them. Have been using chaps, but just seems the full pant would make more sense in the event of finding the asphalt again

You asked about leather but I'll comment about textile. Tourmaster Venture has a removable quilted lining that I have not needed even down to 35 degrees and a bit foggy in the WV mountains. Not sure how low the added liner would give me.

I've been looking at the Fox Creek leather overpants too. Might get them.

Thumbs up

Davepa, i bought a pair Firstgear overpants at motorcyclegear.com for the $165. I wear 34 waist jeans and purchased 36 waist pants so that I could wear some type of clothing under. They have rubberized zippers and treated leather with inner thigh vents, I use suspenders just makes it all around easier. 10 Year warranty, I have used they warranty for a replacement zipper on an Jacket I have. Best money I ever spent!

They look identical to an older style of leather overpant branded by but no longer sold by First Gear. I can't tell the thickness, but every feature (other than the style of the buttons on the leg bottom) is exactly the same. You should note that the older style that I have do not have the stretch panel inserts nor any pockets for armor. I have a pair of the FG and they are the bomb. They are great overpants!

I use some northface snowboard pants and I have ridden in 20 weather and not felt a chill. Plus they are a cargo pant style so lots of pockets and easy to get in with gloves on

Default Over Pants

If you're not hooked on leather, LL Bean has some Goretex pants that can be over pants or used just with long underwear. They have zippers that go all the way up from the boots to the waist. The have pass-throughs so you can get to your pants pockets underneath. They have suspenders that will detach and built in gaiters. Since they are Goretex, they are water and wind proof and will breath. I think they are priced about $130.00.
