Actually I like Sportsters over many of the other models the company is currently making. Hell a friend of mine has one that he's dumped about 8K into at this point. That's one sick *** bike and I've never heard anyone rib him for it. Though people regularly question his sanity about it.
I never got any negative remarks when I had my 04 sportster and I loved riding it but always riding 2 up we got a heritage. By myself I would choose the sportster. Distance is a factor though
Yup, good natured **** talking is one thing, but when it comes right down to reality there is nothing wrong with a Sportster if that's what you like. (feel free to sub any other bike for "sportster" in that statement). My buddy Tim has a real nice silver 1200C with pipes a/c and download and he could run pretty close with my 05 Nightrain with pipes a/c and PCIII. Nothing to be ashamed of there.
Here's a question....you have to ask yourself.....what kind of lame-o has the right or the time or the nuts to give another person sh-- over what the other guy/girl decided to buy for themselves to ride? Quite frankly, as I said before, I have had bigger bikes and more expensive bikes than the Sporty, but I could have given two rats a--es what the people I rode with each particular day were riding....go a step further, dare I say it, I could have given two rats a--es if they were on a crotch rocket, BSA, Kaw, Honda, Triumph, or Schwinn!!! Just get the hell out and ride....
Not a dang thing wrong with the Sporster. My hero Evil knevil used to jump over trucks with his.[8D] Im kickin my but for ever selling my K models. for you newbies, that was the early flat head sporsters. [8D]
I must be getting a little worked up here....sorry.
The one thing I have learned in most all aspects of my life applies here....mind your own da-- business. If something doesn't directly effect you or your loved ones....who gives a crap what someone else thinks or how they act?
Man, you guys just reminded me that a friend of mine had torn down the badass Sporty that he built just before my wreck in August. He tore it down to repaint it BLACK (the only correct color) and was planning on selling it (he likes riding the custom Santee framed evo powered WG copy that he just built better and he has 5 bikes total that he has built/restored). I need to get over there tomorrow and get a picture of it if it isn't gone yet. Oh well, even if it is, I'm sure he will hook me up with a pic.
