It's just easier to make the insurance claim then risk putting up with getting shot, stabbed or anything else. It's why I pay my insurance, not to have to deal with the follow on court fee's of actions I may or may not carry out.

Glad I live in Texas where we can keep our property even if it means using a weapon. I also park my motorcycle where it is always in sight. Never understood the fear to protect possessions or self.

I usually pull off my saddlebags and bring them inside when I'm on a ride that requires staying in a motel over night. It does get old, but beats having them stolen. I would have thought you'd be ok at a restaurant for a couple hours, but apparently not.

Ever think one of those ******** might get pissed off if they'e bolted on & vandalize your bike. I say let 'em have 'em, claim on your insurance.

To reach my shock's air valve, I have to remove my left bag. It would be a pain in the *** to have to unbolt it all the time. Why hasn't someone designed a quick-disconnect locking pin set-up? Something that disengages from inside the bag.
