Used fluids from all my services have all looked the same- engine oil very dark, almost black, transmission oil very clean, looks like new and primary fluid, dark with gray streaks, kinda thick. I attribute that to the wearing of the clutch friction plates. The magnet on the primary drain plug usually has a few fine shards of metal stuck to it. I would assume that is, as another poster suggested, due to all the mechanical violence going on inside that cover and is probably normal. Thats why the magnet is there.

Does anti-freeze add a different color if mixed with oil? I'm curious because I would have guessed OP issue to be water. I only say this because years ago, I had a head crack on my old Camaro. The oil was a sludge grey. It makes sense that grey would be metal, but I ran the engine for maybe another 5 seconds once the head cracked, so I don't believe I hurt anything else in the process. Dead give away sign of the head cracking was when a plume of white smoke started pouring out of my tail pipe! And, it was anti-freeze. There's no mistaking that crap burning for oil. That smell and it leaves this film on everything. Nasty.
Anyway, I'm just curious, based on my experience with my car. Same principles, but big difference being anti freeze. Someone enlighten me please. Thanks.

Hows it run? How's it sound? Any unusual noises coming from the primary area? Shifting ok. Most likely....I say again...."MOST LIKELY" is condensation in the primary. The primary doesn't tend to burn off condensation particulary if you run in cooler temps, like the engine will. Change it! Don't worry about it unless you have good reason to and don't give in to some of the fear mongoring. She's likely fine just like the majority of the others.
