Don't sell the Fat Boy, just add the RK to the stable. I want to add a Fat Boy and a RK to my stable, but I don't have the garage space. The wife and I are shopping now for a house with a bigger garage. We're looking at one tomorrow that has a 10 car garage and it is heated.
Talk to the dealer. They will make it easy for you & save you a lot of hassle. I only lost about. $1k when traded my 2009 Nightster in toward my 2011 Fat Boy. Get what you want. Just don't make a habit of this sort of flip flop.
When the 2012 touring bikes came out, with the 103 CID engine stock, I was pissed I didn't wait till 2012.
Then I came to my senses and realized the people who should be pissed are the ones who paid extra for the 103 in 2011!
You really shouldn't get in a big twist about it, it'll just drive you nuts.

Not unless you bought a new 2011 w/powerpak in 2012!
I had the same problem. Ordered an FXDWG while I was overseas last Spring, picked it up in July when I got back stateside, everything was great until I started salivating over the SGs and 103.
I didn't do too bad of a deal because of what I paid for the WG and then buying a new 2011 on a 2012 floor, but it still hit my pocket.
Bottom Line: If you know you made a mistake and you can afford to correct it......but be sure of what you're buying this time. Besides, you may be surprised at the trade-in value. Dealers are working hard to sell bikes, and trade-ins can be very negotiable.
Took my '09 dyna-low in for service and walking out through showroom floor sat a 2012 pearl white rkc. I said wow! salesman says "ride it", i said nah, wife says "ride it" i said "ok". 6 miles later i said do the numbers. rode the rkc home and came back and got the dyna. most expensive oil change i ever got, but the best one too!
Here's an idea....Stay out of the Showroom and that way you won't be Jonesin' for a trade in!!!....Take a deep breath and park at the service dept bay door your next visit...You will pay off your mortgage quicker if you follow this advice!!!!

I have some upgrades I want to do to the Lo, saddlebags and bars, but am hesitant to put money into it when deep down I am dreaming about trading my current ride in for a RK. Part of me says be happy with what you have and make it yours.....the other says trade for that beautiful RK and take the butt whooping on the trade in value.
Any advice for those who can relate?
