I wouldn't want me staying the night at my own house. You probably wouldn't either.

Regardless what you ride and who you choose to associate with, you can open up a real can of worm potentially when you open your home to total strangers. Good intentions are great and in a perfect world it would be nice to be able to do that but I surely would not do it.

ITs too bad but in this day and age, there are goofs out there would take advantage of this to make malice out of this idea

I'm lucky my wife lets me stay here.
Now if you had a dog with you, she would keep him for you no problem.

It's sad that times have come to the point where you have to be careful about stuff like this. I'm sure most of the people here would be respectful and safe to allow in but you never know who isn't. But your welcome to pitch a tent in the yard just don't be insulted by the locked door when I go back inside.

I've helped many riders over the years .... from a can of gas to loading their scooter in my truck and taking it back the house for repairs .... I've been riding for almost 45 years ... never had a bad incident ... met some cool ... some strange .... some real weird ... but one thing they had in common was they all needed a hand .... I believe in helping out hence the handle "Uncle Larry" .... but .... not once do I remember having one of them spending the night in the house ... I usually threw out a cott in the garage ... let 'em spend the night and we usually parted ways the next day ... I owned my own shop so getting to work a little late in the morning wasn't a big deal ... all in all it usually turned out to be a rewarding experience .... Heck, I still get a Christmas card from one of them ..... just my .02 cents worth.

Could you imagine coming home to find out your house was used as a makeshift meth lab for a week?

This is a great site, but it is still an internet forum, and I would not give carte blanche just because you are a forum member. Just reading some of the posts I see on this site, I know that there are folks on this forum that I would not want to be around, much less have in my home.

Keep in mind that there are crazies out there, and just because they ride a motorcycle don't make them any less crazy. Also, people use sites like this for the sole purpose of preying on the unsuspecting.

You want to have coffee, a burger, etc. and let me get to know you, they we'll talk about me exposing my family to you. I would hope that you would feel the same way about me.

Don't take offense to this, but you have been a member here for a month and have 40 posts. I would have to know a lot more about you before I let you stay at my house. Not intended to offend, just being realistic.

Your comment about being brothers is an old cliche. Brotherhood in the sense you are using it goes a lot deeper than just the fact that both of us throw a leg over a motorcycle tank. Brotherhood status is EARNED over a period of time, and the development of trust, and not just the ability to afford and ride a motorcycle. If you doubt this, try the brotherhood approach with a patch holder.

Very well said!!!

I agree with allot that is said, I would have a tough time opening my home to a total stranger, and put my wife and son at possible risk. That being said, I am more than happy to let someone throw a tent up in the back yard, or throw down a sleeping mat in the shop, hell I'll even make room in the shop to park the bikes, and let you shower in the guest bath in the morning, but sleeping inside isn't going to happen unless we are friends.
