yes progessive front & rear had it done w/other work brakes, new tires etc. well worth it. not to expensive w/ indy labor prices. after the upgrade stock is long forgotten. besides cubic inches I think susp/tire upgrade should be a must.
The stock suspension is adequate. That's about all you can say for it.
Progressive Suspension heavy duty 412 shocks in the rear. Lowered 3/4". A little harsh around town. But with a passenger or luggage, they are perfect. Much better than stock.
Race Tech gold valves and springs in the front. Lowered 1/2". This made a huge improvement in ride and handeling. For a small amount of cash and an afternoon's work, you get a whole new bike. If you only make one change to your stock bike, this is it.
Ask me again in a few weeks.
I don't believe the stock suspension is anywhere near adequate, and I'm about to change that, finally.
I have had a pair of Progressive 440s that are superior to the stock shocks on my RK for about 8 months now, but no joy. They are coming off and being replaced by some Works Performance Steel Trackers. I also have a set of RaceTech Gold Valve emulators and springs coming, and will be ordering Accu-Track shortly thereafter.
I'm hoping I won't have to go any further than what I currently have planned. It's starting to get a tad pricey.
