Wow it happens fast. Unfortunately I know the feeling after bouncing my helmet off an old ladies bumper about 3 years ago. Sold my Suzuki and bought a touring bike - WITH ABS.
Glad you're ok! Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Road rash is no fun, believe me I know. Don't listen to people who say don't cover it and let it dry out. Keep it covered and moist (neosporin with pain relief is good), and change the dressings daily and it will heal faster.

i cleaned up the wounded areas. blood covered a lot and after cleaning it i saw the real damage. its wrapped with neosporin and a dressing.
Glad to hear you walked away from that. If it gives you an idea, damage to my Sedona Orange 2011 FLHX was $5050. Front fender, front wheel, one rotor, fairing, RH floorboard, high way pegs and mts, engine gaurd, exhaust head pipe and shield, timing cover, RH saddle bag bottom, and other misc. hardware. Hopefully you can find a good shop to do the repairs.
nice. we have about the same damage. If I get $5k ill be good. I can do a lot with $5gs to this bike.
anyone know where to get nice custom floorboards and shifter pegs/brake pedal? I have forwards and just did a search and they are about $800. I think with floorboards etc I can save some coin.
