Coming home from school about 11:45 and all was good. car in front started to slow down so I started to brake. He hit brakes again and seemed like he was right there. Hit the brakes again and front tire came out from under me. Went down at about 30-35mph maybe. Did a couple rolls on the ground and could see the car behind me. Just kept thinking please stop and please dont let me get runover. Got up and walked to side of road, shook it off and picked bike up(07FLHX). Had pants and a hoodie on. Swollen forearm, good amount of road rash and very sore left side of body. Hard to breathe and in a sling because of pain. Got checked out,no broken bones etc.Had a helmet on.
Bike has a bent front fender with good damage, same with fairing and dash popped out a little. I have forwards on the bike and it snapped the left side foot peg, bent shifter pretty good as well as shift rod. Stretched bags have damage as well as lid. Exhaust shield is bent, and stretched fender has damage also.
Could of been a lot worse. Had a 1/2 helmet on and no damage to face, head etc. So lucky. Called insurance and had bike flatbedded home. Adjuster should be by in next couple of days. Hope I make out on it so I can do some things to the bike. Insurance claims usually(my experience) pay more than you need.
Thanks guys. Ill try and get some pics. Its not terrible damage but like I said where there is damage it seems bad. The bags are fiberglass and went all the way down the the fiberglass. Not just scrapped. Looks like someone got a sander and just went to town.
Ill let you guys know how it goes. Any advice with adjuster etc? I have Geico BTW.
