removeable windshield mounting thingies... where to find them?
I have a '98 heritage. Bought a windscreen for $20, removeable brackets for $51. So good deal. Now I need the mounts that the brackets mount on when I put the windshield on the bike.
Also, do I have to buy the bolt kit to attach the windscreen or could I just go to the hardware store and buy any 12 x 24 screws with acorn nuts?
Main thing is the parts that go on the forks that the bracket mounts to.
If it is a dealer windshield. Dealer, ebay, or swap meet would be where you probably need to look. I have seen two different late model mounting systems for stock windshields. I had to replace the rubber garments that my windshields hook into and it was a dealer item. Someone else might have a better ideal but with small crap like that I go to the dealer if it is stock.
those little rubber bushings are damned expensive for what they are. the part number is 67621-94, about $5.00 each. if the dealer doesn't have them in stock, check for the kit for the road king custom 58221-04, which has 4 of the bushings, 4 acorn nuts, and 4 studs, for just a little over $20.00
