Ride Safe
As to mileage, you don't know what all I do for work and what all I do for play so your mileage dick measuring bullshit is just that.

in my mind "james riley" is literally shaking a stick at the screen
for real, the thought of you with a weapon makes me nervous for your neighbors, like maybe you might shot someone for walking across your grass or something
dude relax this is suppose to be fun
and stop using the battery tender, the new batteries can sit for a while and be just fine
I don't know about your gun, but if you hate your bike because of the battery, either get a better battery (and ride a bit more often) or trade your Fat Boy in for a different bike. Maybe you'll be happier with a metric... and a Daisy BB Gun as well....

As to the tender, when I bought the bike I told the dealer I wouldn't be riding it much for a while and he told me to buy a tender. When I went to ride it to town for the 1,000 mile warranty work it would not start so we loaded it in the truck, hauled it in and told them about it when we got there. They "fixed" it. I rode the bike home. Rode it a few more times and put it up. Went out to move it out of the garage yesterday, same problem.

As to the tender, I just use it because the Harley told me to.

Others are thinking it's a fuse, the fob, some wiring. I'm not a Harley mechanic. I expect **** to work and the more I pay for it, and the more an outfit hypes their name, the more I expect. I know, I know. That's naive. I'm learning. As the poster above said, Harley saw me coming. It's just that I work hard in the summer and on those occasions when I can get away for a bike ride, I actually wanted to ride and not be mechanicin' or hauling. For those of you whose hobby is working on your bike, more power to you.
Well, I'll go out there today and try some of the suggestions I've heard here.

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
this is mine
battery tenders are not good for gel batteries and can actually shorten the lifespan of a battery
if you have a traditional style battery the tender would be good
they may have tenders that are specically made for gel batteries now , but i dont' know, but "true" gel batteries are weakened by over charging
many, many people will disagree with me on this but that is my experience
