I do not have a vest. 3 jackets, but no vest. I may get one some day, but so far just have not found a reason for one. reading all of these posts, I still have not found a reason.
If any of us were really concerned about REAL protection we'd be in...
...a fricking Volva.
Jeeze, some people like leather, some like denim. Some like tall boots, some like short. Some like Dynas, some like Ultras. It's America, peeps. Wear what you fricking want and quit being a puss worrying about what someone else is wearing.
I rode my train 3000 miles in a week last time I was home. I wore a vest when it was hot, short sleeves, and gloves..oh and a bandana. I ride because I like being out in the elements and as shocking as this may be to some of you guys, I have been down, raw, and broken before. **** happens out there. If you want to dress like you are going to Mars, good for you. If that's what makes you feel safe I don't think anyone has a problem with it. Some of us don't give a ****.
Problem is, just like people that don't smoke and want to tell others that do how stupid they are...you are incredibly irritating.
When it was cold, I put on my jacket and chaps. When it was hot, nothing but jeans and a vest/tshirt. Bandana kept my hair under control and bugs off my forehead. Gloves kept my fingers from gettin busted by rocks. Sounds functional to me.
A biker..is a biker..is a biker regardless of how they choose to ride, what the ride, or what they wear doing it. Lend a hand when it's needed and bump your gums a little bit less. Everyone likes eachother better that way.
question: why wear the vest? is it for patches exclusively?
thinking about getting a nice ones but will put a few personel patches on it but nothin club related. There are a multitude of MC's and a few RC's.. may go the RC route someday or stay independent.
i really like the look just dont want to look like a ****** poser.. there are enough around!
