This was pretty infuriating when it happened, but after a while, it was funny. I was just out running some errands, and on the way back came on a line of ducks crossing the road. I gunned it a little to run em off, and they all took off flying right up the road. I was stupid enough to ride under them and they let loose with a barrage of green crap, covering my bike and me! Lucky it's in the 60s today and I can give the poor bike a bath!
That is literally what happened. They were gaining altitude flying directly over the road, and when the old Pythons opened up underneath em, they opened up on me!! Totally my fault, but I can't stand ducks and geese. Around SE Pa, they are everywhere. They crap on everything and are like a plague on the Earth!!
That damn quack they make sounds suspiciously like a laugh. But a goose honk sounds kinda like f**k you![&:]

Same here, but they are called Mall Rats. The stupid things live around the malls year round because people feed them and now the Canadian Geese that live there are sort of classified as a minor sub species.
With well intentioned but foolish idiots keep feeding them and having no natural predators, outside of stray dogs and easily avoided cars to worry about they are relatively safe, and reproduce like rabbits.
Now because so many generations of them have grown up that were never forced to migrate south for food in winter, they don't even know how anymore.
Glad you posted this story. There is a small town to the south of me where someone has a flock off geese that roam free. I was riding through there a couple weeks ago and they were crossing the highway so traffic was stopped. I WILL remember what happened to you and not do the same thing. Just wait for them all to cross, then go on my way,,,,

Geese don't always just "cross the road". I remember years ago I was in the park having a picnic lunch with a little girlfriend of mine. There was a park warden sitting at a table 30-40 feet off (may have been closer, I was in my early teens..).
This gander of geese came up from the little lake we were nearby and started hissing at us.. The warden yelled "Run!" and that's what we did. Them hissing and honking geese chased us away from the lake, then ate our Subway sandwiches.. Had the warden not been there I think I could have taken 3 before one of them got a lucky shot in and they would have beat me down.. LOL
