The broken wings patch?

Housing was already starting to skyrocket when I bought mine. I'll pocket an easy 400k.

7 years ago today, My wife went down on her 2017 Road Glide on I-75, mile marker 21 in TN. An 18 wheeler in front of her spit out its drive shaft. She had no where to go, hit it. Snapped the front rim, bent the forks and frame, rear rim dented so bad my hand could fit between tire and rim. Front rim would not roll through the forks. 36K damage to the bike, totaled.
My wife's left wrist was broken from the impact to the drive shaft. Left collar bone was broken, 4 ribs on left side broken, and right ankle sprained. She got back on a bike as soon as Dr. released her. She wears the broken wings I bought her.
It's a patch I hope I never earn.

I have seen them around, I don't believe anyone I know wears one. So I googled. Some do say Harley, so I would not wear on Honda. Some wings
I have never heard rule the bike has to be totalled. Still waiting to hear what the old timers have passed down in the lore for severity of injury.
I guess I really don't care. I have never taken it as a serious patch with the risk of stolen valor ya I am sure there are some that are not severe.
Talked to some one totalled bike on deer, but unhurt. Got tattoo with date. I wouldn't. But not my arm

Broken wings? Really? I have had a few major crashes that I did not walk away from over the decades. You won't see me wearing a patch because of it.
The scars, aches, pains and memories are patch enough for me. Is there a patch for forgetting to use your kick stand? What a stupid idea...
