The Broken Wings patch is for those who've totaled a Harley and Lived to Ride another day, period.

Like the bell, it's not meant to be bought but to be gifted. It's not about road rash or broken bones. It's not about wreckin' ricers and dirt bikes.
It's not for downed or fallen riders either. Those are separate things to be honored in other, more specific ways like "In Memory of..." and "G.B.N.F." patches, murals, tatts, etc.

Where many club riders wear a bottom rocker, I wear the large set of broken wings I was given by a brother, who's old lady sewed them on for me.
I also wear a broken wings tattoo across my left bicep, given to me by a studio owner bro I rode with decades ago. I earned them both, separately.

I don't share these things to brag. There's nothing to brag about. Totaling your bike and breaking your body sucks.
I'm sharing the old customs for those who care enough about the lifestyle to listen, care and hopefully pass on to future generations... properly.

If you wear the wings and haven't earned them... I couldn't give a rats *** but be warned, superstition is a thing for a reason and you are tempting fate.

Ride safe folks but most importantly, ride FREE.

Then I guess the salvage title on my Harley kinda makes it undeniable. Would you guys like to see my divorce papers too?

Would you guys like to know what the best part of my divorce was? When her and her family had to beg me to come home. Now I really am living for free.

Is it a republican thing to bite your nose off to spite your face? She was f*cked without me and I knew it.

The walking papers she handed me say I'm not responsible for jack $hit and if she has half a brain there isn't going to be a third strike.

I guess I don't understand where all the hard feelings come from. I don't really care what kind of bike you ride. You ride a bike and that puts us in the same "class" of people. Sorry for those who get a divorce. I would think that would be a good thing if you had a bad relationship, something to get your life back. Don't understand why it has to be brought up in a motorcycle forum over and over. Oil? Your choice, use what you want. Your decision. Handlebars? I can tell you what I like, and if you disagree with me, so be it. It's your choice. Why am I wrong because I like XYX and you like ABC? Why does that make me an *******? Someone to ridicule. Then if I say something about your choice, I get hammered, ridiculed, and am the ******* because I have a different opinion. I wish some people would just keep the subject of the thread intact and not side track and de-rail because you want it to be about you, your choice, your problems, your issues. Or your choice of oil??

So if you lost your foot but bike was not totaled no wings? Or if you did it on goldwing no wings?

I don't know the line on how bad it has to be, and don't care. Not like it is badge, military or club patch

You want it, and want to tell your story, fine

"The Broken Wings patch is for those who've totaled a Harley and Lived to Ride another day, period" ... If this was directed at me ( I see you quoted me ) be aware that I spent 30 days in traction after earning mine although I've never worn "Broken Wings"
