^^^ Thanks!! I've actually been eyeballing the neck and downtube covers from kuryakyn.
The regulator cover was a factory HD part though (the one I've seen/liked). I found a couple used ones on ebay... they are cheap. It doesn't appear that it is yet another obsolete springer part... apparently they were shared with the FX family for several years..... so it should be something I can pick up new from HD relatively easily.
Wish I could say the same about the rear fender solo rack - LOL
Keep in mind that those neck, downtube, and swingarm covers are going to scratch your frame all to hell, so if you ever decide to take them off, you have an issue. I thought about the swingram covers for my Springer since I ride bagless in the summer, but scratching up my swingarm wasn't worth it to me...
You can get the rear fender solo rack from the J&P catalog (Vintage), or online at their website.
J&P has several racks.... but none of them look anything like the OEM one. I haven't found a suitable aftermarket rack that looks like the original. It's another obsolete part, and very difficult to find.
From one Springer owner to another, that's a beautiful bike you have there!
If you're interested, HD also sells a chrome regulator, not a cover, but a whole replacement. While the chrome would look great, I prefer to let that part blend in. Too much road debris getting kicked up into that area from the front tire, the chrome would be pitted in no time.
As for covers on anything else, they will scratch up the frame pretty good. Chrome is nice, but sometimes a little black here and there isn't bad either.
The chrome regulator cover looks great. Have one on my Fatboy, but didn't install one on my RKC 'cause it looked too much like a toaster.
I would eschew frame, downtube, & swingarm covers. IMHO it is superfluos & silly, and to cover a functional part with a piece of chrome is unecessary. Have a couple on my Fatty, but they were there when I bought the bike.
That Springer is GORGEOUS!! Good luck with it & ride it safely & carefully. The only change I would make? Toss that "Live to Ride" crap over the fence!
Fisheye... Thanks! I recognize the picture in your sig... You bought your springer from that gentleman in North Carolina, right? I have actually corresponded with him several times. He is the one i ended up buying my windshield bag from. When i told him i had bought a bike, he told me he was getting ready to send me pics of an 02 injected model he just got in, and hadnt even listed yet.
Dickey... Thank you as well. I am going to pick up the regulator cover... Im ditching the neck/frame cover idea though.... Im glad some folks on here schooled me on the after effects. And yes, the derby and timing covers are gone..... So are the red streamers for that matter.
I cant wait for it to get here.... The wait is going to KILL me!

Exactly. Bought it from the guy in NC. He was pretty up front with me, but when it arrived, I was a little disappointed. The bike had been laid down on the left side. No big deal, the footboard bracket and the left slip on were scraped up. I had plans to replace the exhaust, and the bracket was no big deal either.
I've pretty much gone over the whole bike with a fine tooth comb....it's already looking like it just came from the factory. My tins are all being redone by Gunslingers. The paint was maybe a 5 out of 10. They're getting it back to a 10 for me, and it will look all original.
