The offical word from Barbers is theirs is a replica,The one in Anamose is supposed to be the one used in the crash scene. It was given to Dan Haggarty by Fonda and he repaired the bike,don't know if he donated the bike or sold it.{Haggarty built the two originals,or was it three?}Anyway the one stolen was never seen again.That's the way I've heard.

The filmmakers say both bikes were parted and sold before the film was released commercially. The fact their are more than 50 "guaranteed original w/ fonda's sworn statement" copies would lead most to believe that, yes they are fake, or even if one was not, there is no way to tell them apart anymore.
