If true that makes sense. I guess the mechanics at Harley dont know that.

Well, I found some info on some other sites about it. it seems the speed/RPM match thing while downshifting is the cause of it, so I guess it's not really a problem.

If that's true, why doesn't every HD 6 speed experience it? Mine never has in 25k miles. I'm crackin' open the service manual. brb

My 6th gear light does not come on until I release the clutch, in 6th. That's the only time I've ever noticed it. But then I'm not usually looking for it either. So if it flickers sometimes I might not notice.

+1 That is why it only flashes briefly. I'm betting it happens to just about everyone. Of course those that say it never happens to them, just might not be glancing at the indicator for that fraction of a second that the indicator flashes. If the indicator stays on in a gear other than 6th or out of gear, then it is an issue. If just a quick flash of the indicator it is the computer on the bike doing it's calculations.
