I ride to ride, but giving yourself a target as a turnaround spot is understandable.
I get it.

I've ridden a few hundred miles to eat burgers on my own patio.

I live in Tulsa, OK - Oklahoma City is 100 miles away and there is a 75 mph turnpike connecting the two cities. Needless to say, there is a McDonald's mid-way. Quite often, I will hop on the turnpike, ride 50 miles, have a McDonald's for lunch and ride back home. Thing is, I'm not a big McDonald's fan.

I live south of OKC and ride 75 miles to eat at "The Dixie Dog" in Ponca City. It's an old style drive in where the little girl comes and takes your order, and they have an awesome jalapeno burger.

Went to a PGR mission late last fall for a fallen soldier that was 150 miles away, because it was a Saturday and one of the last nice days before winter. I felt a little guilty for enjoying the ride itself, so I ate at a Mickey D's too on the way home to make up for it. Penance complete.

I see absolutely, without a doubt, no problem in what you do. I do that kind of stuff all the time. Hell, I've got a favorite little diner three towns away (about 50 miles) that I ride to all the time. They have the best pancakes in the state. The ride is different however in that it follows the Lake for some distance and then a lazy river with a beautiful gently twisting country road. Not exactly a turnpike, but what the hell.

I know your turnpike well as me and my gun show buddy go to Wannemacher's gun show every year.

You ought to just pack you a lunch & eat that in the McD parking lot so your stomach doesn't hurt on the way home.

There is a pie/coffee shop in Montana, 100 miles west of where I live. They make really good pie. We will drive there a couple of times a year on the pretence of getting pie. Once a year we will do a overnight 300 mile, one way, trip to Custer SD to go to the purple pie house. Unless you have eaten there,. do not judge.
