I but where are the metric touring/cruising groups?
I've owned two Goldwings and a bunch of other metrics, and I have to tell you, Wingnuts are as obsessive about riding, groups, outings, and their bikes as most of the HD guys I know.
I have a ricer question. When you see a group of riders what brand are they usually on/? I mean , you see the crotch rocket guys ride in groups, and Harley guys ride in groups, but where are the metric touring/cruising groups? Is it just me, or where I live (Michigan)? Has anybody else noticed that?
GWRRA...very similar to HOG. Some of these guys have 500,000 miles on their Wings.
Oh, I don't doubt that there are some groups out there doing the same thing as we do, I just never see them. Now a lot of it could be the area I live in, mostly American cars and bikes. (I live near Detroit). I ride all over the state, and Canada, and I just don't see the metric cruisers out in groups much, if at at all. Just curious if it like that everywhere.
I ride with a bunch of old retired guys, we all have over 35+ years rideing,2 of us ride harleys, one a BMW, 2 Yamahas and a moto-guzzi and of course 1 honda rider and a Suski also, we never stand around and bash bikes, of course we are mature men and not kids or johnny come lately riders that think we have to bad mouth each others bikes..seems to me it is mostly the new guys that do the bashing, and that goes for harley riders also, I listen to the 50 year old men at bike nite that started rideing Harleys2 years ago and they like to shoot their mouths off also..There you have it.

Joe
Yeah, but they ain't as good lookin' as your sweetie, Joe! You, on the other hand, could be the poster boy for the Wing-Ding!
They are overpriced, and price is a factor........And to respond to another post,,,To compaair a HD to a ROLEX is just silly....HD is a quality bike ,but far from the best engineared
ORIGINAL: tinknocker_02
I agree it IS little mans syndrom. They seem to think that because a harley costs more mostly that they are overpriced.I bet if they rode one for any length of time they would change thier mind if price was not a factor.EVO's do rock.
Don't worry about what others think! Ride what YOU like. H-D is the real deal.
You could argue that a Casio watch is better than a Rolex but what would you rather own?
I'm a Seiko man myself. Why would anybody buy a Rolex . . . they're overpriced and a Seiko keeps time as well as a Rolex and looks just as good. Rolex people are always showing off that they have a Rolex and think they're better than everyone else because they can afford a Rolex. Why, I can buy several nice Seiko's for the price of a Rolex. In fact, I can even takea Seiko to the jeweler and have it modified with a Rolex labeled face. Then everyone would think I have a Rolex but it would still have it's Seiko guts. I could then hang out with the Rolex guys at a fraction of the costs.
I know what you mean........I can't stand those EVO people either....TC......there is no substitute...........[sm=biker.gif] well I gusee an EVO is better than a girly Sportster........[sm=icon_rofl.gif]

just think if you do that, even some Goldwing riders might let you hang with them, or you could buddy around with the Rubs that trailer their bikes to Sturgis behind a $400,000 motorhome Sounds like fun to me---Not..but I understand where your comeing from with that remark, sure is a lot of phoneys out there..

I thought tha too till the wife bought me a Rolex Submariner for our 10th anniversary.......the Rolex is indestructable compared to Seiko's because I would go through 3 Seikos in 10 years...........and the Rolex is 10 years old and still ticking.......
