Merry Christmas everybody. So I've got my 07 Springer Classic on order, scheduled for delivery mid Feb. I've decided to go with V/H true duals, fuelpak, and SE Stage 1, right off the bat. I know I could install this stuff myself, but the dealer estimates two hours labor where it would probably take me six plus. My question is, do you think the dealer will have a problem with me bringing in the pipes and fuelpak from somewhere else? I think I can save about $150 bucks by buying them online. Of course I will ask them directly, but just wanted to get your opinions first. Thanks!
I asked my dealer about lettin me bring in amsoil on the next visit, stead of the HD synthetic he said no problem. I thought they might have a beef about it.Was glad they understand.I know it aint parts, but same principal?
I think it depends on the dealer. Most of them are slow right now and looking for things to work on. Things will start picking up in March or April. Might be a different story then. My dealer would take care of me.
It seems most service departments don't mind where you got the parts as long as they get the work. Same with they don't care where you bought the bike. Can't say that's true everywhere though.
Than again you could save another $100 (labor) if you did it yourself. Personally if you have a problem with something down the road, buying it from them you could always go back to them. Buy it somewhere else, you are on your own

a good dealer should have no problem installing NEW aftermarket parts on an HD. moreso, there should also be NO difference in the labor rate/time if they install parts you bought from them or brought in yourself
