Agressive rider here. Group rides are sooo boring and a little dangerous, given the ineptitude I have seen and read about on here. I ride my Bob fast and still have a CBR 1000 for faster work.
Got my Ultra back from the shop late last October after they sorted out some issues with the cam and the tuner. It ran beautifully, and I took it out on the interstate close to the city just to get the feel of how she was running. Rolled on the throttle while "cruising" at 85, and felt like there was a JATO unit in the *** end! decided to back off @ 105 and was dropping back towards 90 when my lights illuminated the logo of the PA Stae Police running radar in the turn around in the median. I just pulled over to make it easy for him. Turned out to be a buddy of mine, but I felt like sh-- anyways. He was less than happy with me. Pointed out that in in western PA it was getting into the deer rut season, and a buck could take me out running at that spped, and he hates doing the paperwork. Stupid on my part. Lesson learned.
My P/U is pretty damn fast, and sometimes I get it up there just because.
But if I wanted to go fast for real I could have bought a lightly used Corvette for less than I spent on the truck.
Same holds true for my Harley.
Sometimes I get it up there just because.
But I could have gotten a good used bike for less to go fast for real.
Not to mention I can spend a LOT less buying a for real FAST bike to sit alongside my Harley than what it would cost to make my bike still not as fast as a 600 whatever brand sportbike.
So if Im ridin to slow for ya, go on with your bad self, dont wait for me. Ill get there when I get there. I dont lollygag along, but I dont need to ride it like I stole it.
I wonder how never having had an accident factors into this need for speed? I've had several of my cars 'get away from me' and when they cut loose, you're just along for the ride until something stops you. Several 360s later and sitting in a ditch, you realize these things can get away from you. I'm not so anxious to repeat those incidents on a bike.

probably not the thread to be posting in then, we already know most cruiser riders are slow. This is a thread for the aggressive types, the title should've given you a clue.

I have always ridden agressively(46 years in the saddle),might as well die living.I hit a deer last spring while heeled over in a curve at 65 mph,and totalled the softail in the pic.The Road King is a Stage ll,and a much better bike on the mountain roads I ride up here. When I twist the throttle,I want a bike to talk back.I can sniff daisies when I'm walking around.Ride like you mean it.
