Yup, i think you hit the nail on the head with your first statement. I'm not a wanna be. I don't wanna be dead cuz i second guess myself. If you wanna go hard theres no room for that. Thats why i don't go fast anymore. And some peoples version of fast ant that fast at all. Cuz they can't handle what real fast is. But you already know that.lol
I don't want to go fast, as what some of you guys call fast. I want to challenge myself safely and gradually to become a better rider. I consider that riding aggressively. I don't ride dangerously at all and I'm sure that some, if not most of you, would not consider my riding aggressive at all. I ride within my skill level and strive to raise that level.

Sounds like your a smart guy. Don't worry about being all aggressive when riding, smooth is way cooler in my opinion. lol They are bikes that are built to be ridden. How hard is up to the rider and his skill level. I miss riding as hard as me and the bike could handle. But i sometimes would push harder than i should have and payed for it. Some guys never do. Some guys do and still love it. Good for them. I never try to keep up if a guy is riding to fast for me. Got nothing to prove. And no one cares anyhow.lol

Did you know that most solo motorcycle accidents are cause by a defective nut holding the handlebars and not speed.

I also come from a racing background, so it is hard for me to ride slow. I scrap the crap out of the boards on my Lo, and am even grinding down the brackets that the boards mount to. My springer has some scrap marks on the primary cover as well. I get the itch to get another sportbike at times, but I also want to stay alive. I did some crazy **** back in those days, and feel lucky sometimes I am still here.

aggressive doesn't have to mean fast, as in top speed, technical riding counts, grew up racing mx and just recently quit, i know guys that could out run a rocket in the straights and over the jumps but when in the corners its like they're on ice.(don't mean they weren't ant good) same with the street, while doing 130 is great fun, it isn't necessarily aggressive, the acceleration either from 0-70 or from 70 to 100 is what i find aggressive, passing with lil space left, taking a 35 mph curve at 55 mph, dodging traffic, i do like to kick back and relax on the RG a bit but its sometimes hard, i'll relax when i stop. im only good for about 100 mi. at a time if that but i can go all day. if i wanted to truly relax id jump in my truck with a/c or heat, talk on phone, smoke, take my dog with me on a Sunday drive. so i guess count me in on the aggressive part. i do like to go fast(100+) but only in bursts. it ain't worth it financially.
if you fear the risks involved maybe you should stay home, as one saying goes
STUPID HURTS. trust me i know.

on a another note, some ride how they wanna ride, doesn't make them a less skilled. slow, fast, or short blast, however as long as YOU are having fun.

What's the point of riding like an old fart? Love to hear the exhaust notes when ripping through the gears.

I grind my floor boards to the point that I scrape the pivot point that they are attached to. I love it. My wife on the other hand.....

Definitely makes a different sound when it goes from the boards to the brackets...
