Aggressive riders only.
I like to push the limits of my sporty, i found a sweet curvy road in socal and i ride with my feet on the hiway pegs and had those start folding back on me... talk about a ride!!! I also saw a bigger harley being loaded on a wrecker. Just gotta know when to slow down and ease off is all. I didnt even think about buying a crotch rocket because the posistion just makes me want to go fast. I knew Id push myself to far on one of those. Plus i always wanted a harley. I think i made the right choice...
I've always enjoyed speed - in my cars and bikes. Now I know with a Harley that I'll never keep up with the crotch rockets, but I don't care. I ride as fast as I'm comfortable with (which is sometime faster than the group I ride with). There is one guy in the group that is a blast to ride with. When we are riding together it is ***** to the walls an hang on. That doesn't happen alot, but when it does, boy do I feel great. We have a couple nice roads in our area that are great for letting it out and scraping the pegs. So when I can ride those, I will turn it loose (again to my comfort level)
I thought my group was the only ones...we pass alot bikes in a days ride....hahaha I hate to be passed dont happen much!!!!love the twistys........I see 45mph twisty sign and I grin from ear to ear......
I don't know if I ride "aggressive" or not. Fast is one thing, aggressive, at least to me, is completely another. I will throw the bike around on the mountain roads, sure. But I am not big on straight away speed. It is sort of funny really, I own some property out off of 60 in VA just about at the top of a mountain and I ride out there often. I will catch up and just about run over dudes all the time in the turns, but boy oh boy when they get on the straight away they can fly
.
Don't mean to sound like a dick and I certainly am not trying to address anyone in this thread, but dammit I wish some of the folks that want to ride fast or aggressive would learn how to actually ride first. It is warming up now so I know I will have to deal with the idiots on all kinds of motorcycles taking these turns on route 60 and 56 not having the first clue what they are doing. Just about every trip out there I have some moron on a bike with his head hanging clear over in my lane, a time or two every year my mirror on my f150 just barely misses helmets as they fly by.

Thread update: Nice to see like minds, and I'm surprised I've not seen the crazy fools I expected. You know, the usually young hothead with no respect for others, solid lines, no knowledge of real skills, and some kind of dumb point to prove.
No, instead I find that 90% of you are like minds, working in your skill levels, having fun, and ready to back down when it's time to back down.
TRULY REFRESHING DUDES!
As for the other 10%, I have a comfy chair at home with flowers in the freekin' yard. Just move over and let us by, we'll all have a coke at the gas stop.

One of the things I like about my sportster is that I can push it a little without listening for the sirens. Compared to some of the metrics, Harley's are kind of like trucks; I've scrapped the end off a handgrip at around 90mph on a Honda, only way I'll do that on my Harley is if it's scrapping chrome and paint off several other parts, and some of me, too. I'll be 65 in a few days, so a bike that slows me down probably isn't a bad idea; I've pushed my luck long enough. Now all I have to do is sell my last Honda, just hate to lose the last of my arm stretching acceleration and seeing the pavement a few inches from my hand. That said, I'll try to appease the insulted Harley riders by saying there are madmen on Harley's that can outcorner the average crotch rocket street rider, but that takes an attitude and reflexes most of us don't have.
Cracked me up! So true.........I was standing around with a bunch of dudes my age (63) down at Legend Harley in Wenatchee,WA. We were all talking about riding experiences over the decades, going down, riding hot and wild in our younger days.Every one of us still rides like he means it,it's an attitude/zest for life that grows stronger with the passage of time, not more careful and timid. The scars remind us of what can happen......Hell,if you haven't been down, you haven't been riding.
I have mellowed out with age and don't ride near as aggressive as I used to. That being said I do still enjoy leaning hard into a good twistie every so often. I also enjoy watching the young n's tear up the road and enjoy their youth. That does not include the a-holes that are doing wheelies while standing on their heads while weaving in and out of traffic.
My last bikes were a Triumph TT600, 03 R6, 05 RC51, 06 Daytona 675. I only got rid of the Daytona after getting the HD because I only put a little over 1k miles on it in the year and a half I had it. My next bike to keep the Deuce company in the garage is going to be a Speed Triple. I need something to keep my inner hooligan satisfied.
^^ That's also why the first mods to the Deuce were a 95" upgrade and cam.

I too came from a flat tracking back ground, I do like corners....
Im the prez, so when I ride with the chapter, i tell them Ill keep it around 75, they usually come back with ya right, but ya keep the same speed in the corners....LOL.
One young guy has a new Stret bob, we both have stage one, he has cams, so he pulls me a little on the straights, so I took him on a nice curvy road by the lake on the way to La Grange, after two corners, I lost sight of him....
After we got to the destination, I told him, you may get the old man on the straight, but Ill kick your *** on the corners....
Now dont get me wrong, sometimes I take it easy and enjoy the view....sometimes..!!
