Stall on 2003 Classic

We were out for a ride in very hot temps and lots of traffic when my 03 Electra Glide died on me. I pulled over and it started right away but I had to work the throttle to keep it going. I parked for approx.1.5 hrs and it started,no problem. I drove home, about 60 miles, at speeds between 60 and 70 mph,no problem. The engine light did come on at around 70 but did not stay on.Any suggestions would be appreciated as to what the problem might be,thanks.

They do this when they get hot, the fuel is burning as it enters the cylinder ,so it can't run well.

If you still have the circuit breaker in front of the battery I would recommend replacing it with a 40 amp inline fuse. That solved the problem on my 03. Check the crimps and for corrosion on the terminals that attach to the circuit breaker also.
