A month ago after a days ride, my engine lightcame back on after starting up the engine, then went out. Dealership checked the code ( P1356 ) = rear cylinder "hickup", nothing to worry about. Just rode 330+miles Sunday & it's back. Anyone run into this! Oil, battery, fuel & temp OK runs fine. Love to ride, but not much on wrenching.
Not that I have anything to add to help with your problem but you need to let people know what kind of bike? Mileage? EFT? Carb? Heck you could be talking about a Honda.
Well I found out that their rear cylinder "hickup" was a polite way of telling me I hit the Rev-Limiter....again. But it sure sounded good. Guess I need to act my age.
Well I may have been too fast to accept the dealership's "guess" about the engine light. Went on a 200-mile trip & it started coming in while running down the road. Nowhere near the rev-limiter (for sure). Voltage-Oil pressure-Oil level-temp-fuel all OK, and running fine. Just the annoying light coming in for 10-90 seconds every few minutes. Finally stop after 40-miles, then acted up again a few times, after a pit stop. It's in the dealership again, hopefully for a more in-depth examination. Hate to blow-off the engine light, as it could mean something another time.
Dealership replaced both spark plugs & rear plug wire. Seems to have resolved the engine light issue for now. Went on a 240-mile trip Sunday without any problem!
that's it. had the same problem. engine light would come on for few seconds then go away.
replaced both ingnition wires and no problem now.
my bike is an '04 road king police, fuel injection, 27,000 miles.
