Not sure what happened but I am having all kinds of problems.
I have a 2008 street glide and am installing auxiliary lights.
Ended up breaking one of the turn signals and then things started going down hill.
I can nit figure where to hook up the power for the lights. I have the switch installed and it lights up, but no power source near the headlight is controlled by the switch.
I also was looking for power and shorted out the connector shown in the picture below. What is strange is I can not find any burnt fuses.
In the second picture is a item in my fairing that seems unusual, seems to have an antenna, wondering if it is a garage door opener?
I wanted to ride tomorrow, instead my bike is in pieces I am at my wits end.
HELP PLEASED
I have an 08 Street Glide and i believe my aux lights came with a connector that connected to the existing turn signal "plug". I got the power supply for them from the aux switch on the inner fairing next to the cruise control switch. As far as the fuse, I'd pull every one of them (one at a time) and closely inspect them.
Are you using the instructions for this kit...all wiring goes into fairing cap/switch connector area. The harness (#105) has open pin sockets where you connect to power for these lights. Should look like attached (figure-6)...you'll need duetsch connector pins & crimp tool to make these work...
I figured during the night that the power may be the the extra wire on the turn signal plug. The wire color matches the wiring diagram.
I did pull every fuse and check with a meter so that one really has me stumped. I guess if everything is working once i finally get it back together i won't worry.
I am or was an electronic technician lol really pisses me off how poorly the instructions for installing the auxiliary lights are.
Heading to Harley in an hour and pick up a new turn signal, hopefully they may have an idea what that plug feeds.
Got her all buttoned up and looking good.
Still no idea if I blew a fuse or what that part is, but everything seems to be working fine.
I used needle nose pliers to crimp the connectors, worked fine
