There is one other RIV inspection site. Maybe they are less sticklers for stickers.

At least I got my sense of humor (US Spelling) back.

Harry
1. I sent an email to Eastside Harley. No response... (shocker)
2. Opened a case with H-D USA. Their email response referred me to Deeley.
3. I sent an email to Deeley and am going to follow up with a call this morning.

I will keep you posted. The journey for the elusive sticker continues while my ride remains unregistered and uninsured. For every sunny day from now until this is resolved, I hope a Deeley employee gets the flu (...like bad bad vomiting and diarrhea) ARGH!!!

Cool

Unfortunately it looks like I missed talking to a HD Representitive, MOCO or deeley.

Called RIV they have people manning phones until 12:00 EST.

The Letter of Compliance is all that is required for the RIV inspection to go through.

So someone at the desk of HD needs to lookup your VIN, check it on HD-Net, copy paste to a form letter.

Get this letter to you.

Then RIV inspection at Crappy Tire.

Then ride into the sunset. Even if it is raining.

Any one have a scanned Letter of Compliance to see what should be coming in the mail???

Patience

H-D USA says I have to go through H-D Canada (aka Deeley). This is Deeley's email response this morning (below). How the F* am I supposed to register the bike BEFORE the inspection?! WTF.

Good morning Mr. Markus,

The bike MUST be platted and registered in the name of the importer (Mr. Markus). Title must be platted in importers name and request must show a Canadian address.
It is otherwise impossible for us to process this request as it is mandatory documentation.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Letter of Compliance showed up day before yesterday. Cost $50 to Deeley.

If my pound of flesh is worth $50...

Anyhow, yesterday was fun filled with RIV inspections and PST and insurance.

Done and done.

Letter took 20 Calendar days to arrive.

sheesh - At least I have an operable motorcycle. Now to get mine done...

Ohhh... Just PST you had to pay. ICBC charged me 12% HST last june when I registered my bike then BLASTED me with a 5200$$$$$$ for a years insurance. cause I went over the 1200cc size for a bike and after that the rates skyrocket.

I'd like to give one of these to ICBC

Well I paid the GST at the border. So I did get the full HST.

But the motorcycle I bought for the wife is a 2007 Softail Deluxe. US Price $12,800. Dunno the price of yours.

All in all it is done now.

All I can suggest is look for the certificate of compliance sticker if you want a US motorcycle for import to Canada.

RIV inspection cost $33. Dunno why the stickers cost $19 for the speedo.

$5200 a year FOR INSURANCE!!?? **** on that! I'd ride without it & **** the consequences. Besides--cops would be too busy watching hockey on their I phones to bother with me.

Well the cops won't be watchin no hockey, well at least not the Canucks, they sold the farm already and cops got lots of time to hand out tickets.
At least there will be no riots in Vancouver this year.
