*HELP* Missing "Statement of Compliance (SOC)" label importing bike
Almost completed the import process. I took my 2011 Sportster to get it inspected this morning. Apparently the Statement of Compliance (SOC) label is missing. They absolutely need this before they "pass" my bike so I can register and insure my bike. Anyone else been in this position before? Is this just a sticker on the frame somewhere?
Is that one of the stickers that some folk on here suggest you to remove along with your reflectors. Makes the bike cleaner looking and stops you from getting a registration in some places. That sucks.
I believe you can get a missing SOC from any Harley Dealer in USA if you are importing it from USA. All you have to do is supply the VIN and they should send you a sticker. At least that is how it worked with importing my Weekend Warrior Toyhauler.
Thanks for the advice so far guys. I've sent an email to the dealer who sold me the bike and also opened a case w/ Harley-Davidson USA. I should hear back from either (or both) shortly. Man, this is such a pain in the ***. ARgh!

I'm in the EXACT same boat.
Previous owner decided to pull sticker for aesthetic purposes. [I guess]
Causing me a lot of grief.
I am curious what dealership will get you a new sticker?
I've bought a motorcycle from Mt. B HD and they say a letter from HD is all they can do. Well all I can do. HD won't give you a new sticker. [according to them].
Crappy Tire looks for the sticker FIRST.
If you're canadian, look for the sticker on the downtube with the VIN on it. I'm not looking forward to the bureaucracy required to get it in...
In California if you buy a bike from out of state part of the registration process involves the inspection stickers. On shovels there is one one each front down tube. Needless to say on a bike that is almost 30 years old the stickers were in pretty sad shape, but I swear the guy spent 5 minutes looking at each on trying his best to read them/
Hope you get things squared away. Sounds like the dealer should come through for you on this.

There is one other RIV inspection site. Maybe they are less sticklers for stickers.
