I have been reading and searching throughout this forum to help narrow my search on the seat that may suit me the best. There has been many recommendations for Mustang, Corbin and C&C, but they have been followed by almost as many complaints.
I have a 2008 Fatboy. My trips are normally two hours. I find that my Sundowner seat gives me a sore tailbone (probably an inch further back would help) and I am planning on doing a longer tour this summer of five days with four to six hours riding per day.
In this poll please let me know which seat you like so that I can see which is the most popular.
Im sorry but I can't get past the butt on your avatar. (drool)
Oh and my HD springer seat sucks, but it looks good. This winter I am going to send it out to have it gel padded and all that jazz.
I suspect a lot of this forum has plenty of butt experience, but I have some experience with a few motorcycle seats that I'll share:
Corbin - best overall quality I've found and what I prefer. They have less padding than some others, but I've had 3 and all had great shape and supprt, so they feel better without being thicker. I have tried a Gunfighter, Classic Solo and Close solo (for my wife). Thick fiberglass pans, the best back rest system EVER and the new ones, with the key lock are about the best idea in the motorcycle world.
Mustang - I had a vintage solo - my second choice. Good quality seat with more padding than Corbin, but without as much shape and support from the pan. Good steel pan.
LePera - I had the Bare Bones and their others may be different, but - best looking seat I've ever seen. Also the least comfortable - literally felt like I put a board on the frame. I could feel ever gravel in the road.
Harley Davidson - the most padding and great for rough roads but they are so soft they don't give you any support, which makes my back tired after a while. They also have crappy plastic pans that crack all over.
I've had Mustang seats on 2 of my bikes and have done over 1000 miles in a day on both of them. The Mustang seat is very comfortable but I don't like how it sets me up farther. If I'm going on a very long ride then no question as to which seat I put on.
I leave the LePera Barebones seat on it about 99% of the time however as most of my rides are 200-300 miles. The Lepera seat sits me down lower and is the best looking seat out there for the Dyna anyways.
If someone could make a seat to look like the Lepera Barebones and sit you down low like it but with the comfort of the Mustang seat then they would have the ultimate seat.
Exactly! Long rides the mustang goes on but 90% its bare bones.
I guess I'm indifferent, as I like my homemade for comfort. I have ridden mine on some 8hr trips and never had a bad butt experience with it, like I have had in the past with other seats that were custom/factory made.
I also have a Corbin and like somebody said, Corbins are not as soft or spongy as others but I'm convinced that shape is more important for comfort than softness. JMO

Ive had 2 Corbins on different bikes and Im planning on riding to Hollister in may to get one custom fit for this bike. I was talked into a Mustang for my last bike. Big mistake I wont let happen again. I was interested in a C&C and ive heard good things about them, but it runs along the lines of "it looks real nice". So not going to chance it, Ill stick with Corbin.
