Happy Easter! My early morning ride to work ended in a hit and run at an intersection less than a mile from home.
I Always, Always! Check my mirrors when stopped at a red light. Not this time. I was completely surprised to find myself on the road with no bike under me.
And then this jacka** backed up and went around me. I understand no insurance, I understand money problems. If he had got out to see if I was hurt or help me up out of
the street, we could have worked something out. Nope...had to chase him down to get his
tag number. I have no sympathy for him now. I will press charges.
I think everyone has that "oh sht" moment when something like that happens.Panic sets in and some run.Actually i think its a natural instinct that you have to over ride.....That being said i sure dont blame you for not having any sympathy.---Another 5-10 miles faster and you might be whole lot worse. I would consider myself lucky as crazy as that may sound.--hope he had insurance.
Edit--im curious what his age was and what he told you when you found him?

Glad you could get up and chase em.... damm that sucks!!
Getting hit from behind has to be one of the worse ways to get smacked...
I make it a habit to hold the clutch and watch the mirrors until some one else stops behind me... not that you are safe but at least ya know the guy behind you has stopped. I cringe when I see peeps pull up close to the center of the vehicle in front of them and sit there with their hands on their knees...
I do feel lucky believe it or not..I'm sitting at home drinking coffee. I know it could have been much worse.
I just got a glimpse of him as he went around me. Age somewhere north of 50. I didn't talk to him. I read his tag number under my bright lights at 105 mph. Maybe not the smartest thing to be doing but I was a little pissed.

Yeah me too. I always watch the mirrors and leave it in gear at intersections. No excuse for it but it was early, I was thinking about getting gas......
