Default Why such a short run on the 96" engine? Did I miss anything?

I am looking at buying the GF her first Harley (a Heritage). My dilema, buy a 09 with 4000 miles for $13,500 or just go $18 for a new one. Both my bikes have the 88" engine, I had a 08 FLHR with the 96 and six speed and no issues in the 4000 miles I put on it. I want something new enough to get the six speed, as we have some serious trips in the works. I don't spend enough time here to really say I haven't seen anything negative on the 96", I haven't watched... But in the back of my mind I wonder why they had such a short run. So did I miss anything?

Like everything else...men/women always want something bigger/better. I'm w/you on the 96cuI - plenty of power/torque for hwy + fwy speeds.

Ya its just a bigger better thing! Had to keep up with all the other brands with there 100 cube engines to stay with the times and what people want. 96 is a great engine!

What engines does harley manufacture at this time? In my mind it is the 103 and the 110.

Other than the Sportsters, I believe its all 103's except for one of the Dynas. That one remains a 96. That's what a salesman told me.
