OK for what it is. Just don't over-tighten it. It's not a cruise control, it's a throttle positioning aide to give your right hand a break.

Only thing I've found it's good for is when starting my cold-natured Flhtc is I can set the idle up a bit 'til she warms up. Don't like cruise controls, never even use the one in my car.I rode a RK once that had real c/control, I tried it for a few miles,...don't need it. I think it takes away from the feel of a bike. I want to feel the power and response when riding, not just sit there keeping it in the right lane! Just my 2 cnts!

The throttle friction screw is not intended to be used as a cruise controll, its used to keep some of the throttle return spring tension off the grip and off your wrist to helpyou from getting wrist fatigue on long straight roads. I use it occasionally but back it off when not out on the open highway.................BG
Exactly!

Works great on those long trips, just gives you a quick break.
Absolutely, I use mine on the Intertsate alot! It's a friction Screw, not a set screw!
John, most Bikes Mfg'd after I think '02 have the Automatic kill switch, that if the bike is at 45* or greaterfor 1 sec it kills the Engine.

I don't like the friction screw thing, to me it's a pain to use.
This thing from Kuryakyn looks interesting.

That's one of the best I've seen, cutting the cruise with brake application is a huge plus.

Yep... It's actually called a Bank Angle Sensor (BAS) and it's a safety feature in case thebike tilts more than 45 degrees (or falls) whileit is running.

There are a couple of other ways to go, two I found are like thekevlar lever, but better made, and a little more mony.
http://www.throttlelocker.com/

http://www.throttlemate.com./index.htm

There is another made by 50's Boy that is like the Kuryakin, but uses a mechanical ratcheting system and doesn't release with the brake. But its simpler, easy to "turn off". But it costs more, about $200, go figure that one out.

http://www.50sboy.net/home.html

There is another one out there like the 50's Boy, but it will release with the front brake lever and costs about the same. Unfortunatly I can't seem to find the link I had saved for it, but it may be because Ididn'tsave it. I didn't like the way it needs tohave a hole drilled into the brake lever to add a link for the release. Besisdes I think it looked like hell.

I love it. I set it a little when the bike was new for my feel of the throttle, mainly so the throttle doesn't twist too easy when I hit a bump.
