Its always sad to see, hear or read about tragedys. Up here in Canada we have medicare and its paid for by the tax payers not like american pay as you go. So forcing people who come into our province to wear the proper head protection is OK in my books but just like any government..they want to try to control every aspect of our lives.
"It's My Head" OK, well here's the thing I think about... re: Any Safety Law!
Is the Guy/Gal claiming that "it's their head", gonna be fully insured w/ full medical/hospital coverage?
or are they unemplyed (I know not their fault in this economy) or on some kind of Aid? Well, yeah, it's yur head, but if yur a jerk and ridin' goofy without correct personal safety equipment, or violating the law. Why should the taxpayer have to cover yur medical bills if yur suckin' the National Tit???
Tell me how I'm wrong here??? and yeah, I wear a beanie or sometimes nothin' but am over insured and covered & ain't never axed anyone fer nottin' free!
Two wheeled machines of death as opposed to a four wheeled one? Helmets and riders, insurance who's gonna pay for stupidity? Wow! Hey ya, sorry for you up there you know.Eh! Live and let live. Live free or die.
When thought about sensibly (or like a socialist...your choice) if your gonna have to wear a helmet it may as well be a real one and as far as kids on rockets; I'm not opposed to stricter licencing...I always thought that being on the road in control of a motor vehicle was a PRIVILEGE not a RIGHT.
No novelty helmets....hmm I thought that already was the law.
It is but they have never enforced it in BC - Guess I will just wait and see how it transpires over the summer. Definatly not running out and buying a new helmet.
These changes do nothing for me, as I already have my license, and wear a DOT approved helmet. I'm like others who don't want the government telling me how to live. As for new riders having to be restricted to a smaller size bike until they gain experience isn't really a bad thing. I know it will **** off a lot of new riders. Every year in Vancouver during riding season, you see young folk screaming on the crotch rockets they just bought. Zipping through traffic doing wheelies, and I think to myself, your the dude I'll hear about tomorrow on the radio who just crashed and died.
The sad thing is that you never hear much about cruisers crashing as much a crotch rockets. So new cruiser riders are the ones who have to pay for few idiots on sport bikes.
Remember that youtube video the other week of that kide riding that sport bike up to 300kph ? asshats like that are the ones who get these new laws passed. The morons who ride with open pipes, and ride through the city cracking their throttles to get attention are the ones who will get noise laws passed to that will affect me, but what can I do about that except not acting like them.
Time to get a scooter NOT !!
