Sorry for the loss. Prayers to family and friends. My only crash was due to a deer. I too try not to ride at night or early morning, but they are out at all times. Even having a cage in front of you may not help. It even made it worse for me one night. I was following my son in his truck. A deer came out of nowhere at a full run and hit the back of his bed so hard it sent it flying / spinning through the air right at me. Flew right past in front of me. A second later and it would have hit me square in my chest. It was crazy.

Sorry to hear this. We rode up to Leesburg from Tamps Bay via 301 and left in time to travel back via 301 so we could get back before dark specifically so we wouldn't encounter deer country after dark as it drastically increases the risk. Lots of deer in and around Leesburg area.
