M/C protocol
Nope we were in the fast lane, left lane, they were dicking with us, i.e. phucking with us.
I'm in front, in my mirror I see headlights going back and forth, side to side, and by the time WE ENTERED TEMPLE the guy wanted to run me, speeding up , slowing down, rapping his pipes.
I picked a bad day to leave my gun at home, stop smoking, and drinking.
Is there a point here?
So getting back to your topic about the sport bikes. I get it now. He was having some fun with the slow polk Harleys. I totally get that. He got away with it, probably is writing it up on some sport bike forum how he blew away a whole MC.
I guess that's something you have to put up with, unless you break the law and shove a length of pipe in his front wheel. ouch.
Just out of curiosity, and maybe RR can shed some light. What is the protocol when an MC or just a group of riders is cruising and you want to overtake? I do this all the time. I like to cruise up along side the pack, and check out their bikes, one by one. I don't break in if it's a two lane road. If it's a single lane and I want to overtake, you can only pick off a couple riders at a time, so you have to break in when oncoming traffic is passing. Then what? Am I not supposed to pass them?
Passing is in my blood, if someone is ahead of me the race is on.
Yeah I think MUD must not get the humor in that post.
Leadbelly, It seems a lot of people posting in this thread are thickheaded idiot internet tough guys with opinions that matter only to their fatass wives, and even more genetically challenged kids. If you keep answering there stupid questions, you will just get more stupidity from them. I for one think you are a good guy, you have been very polite to all of these internet tough guys with your responses. Your thread was simply put and was just a basic observation. But yet everyone wants to jump your **** for it. An for the record I always enjoy my gas station chats with a few of the Boozefighters I run into around here. A real stand up MC with a bunch of hard working dudes out to enjoy riding with each other.
We’re running 80, side by side, and the indies tried to break formation.
The ricer jumped in and out of the formation numberus times.
I know most of you know this, BUT it’s a big NO NO……RIGHT?

But back to your question, I pull in behind, check the cut " patch", if it's a power club, I hang back unless waved on.( There is a pecking order )
If the "group" moves over ,I pass in a laidback manner and give a thumbs to each biker as I go by.

I've not thought about it before, but the "rules" I follow regarding 1% clubs are pretty much the same rules I follow for everybody.
1. Be respectful.
2. Mind my own damned business.
3. Stay out of their way (if possible).
That's it. I've never had any problems.
