Hey everyone, New Guy from Lexington NC, Glad I found this site as maybe it will help me decide on my New Bike,I am trying to Decide between a Heritages Softail Classic, Or a Road king, I plan on doing a lot of Long Distance Riding, Like the Beach an mountains, an Of Course the Dragons Tail.
(318 Cruves in 11 miles )I have rode Bikes before sad to say on a Harley forum that they were honda's blah,a 750 nighthawk an a 1100 Goldwing, I know there is a weight Diffrance between the 2 sets of bikes by about 200 lbs, my Question is which bike do you guys an Gals think I would be able to handle the best with a Passenger on the back?I am 5'8 210 lbs if that helps any lol. thanks for your help gang,
Well, I've owned both. Currently a 2012 Road King Classic. Both bikes will suit your needs/wants and either is a good decision. I love my Road King and miss my Heritage. Go to the dealer and test ride both and then decide what suits you best. At 5'8" you may like the Softail better but I'm just pulling that out of my butt since I'm not 5'8". I don't think handling either will be an issue.
Thanks for the Reply, I will go this week an check them out, As i Have Tilleys Harley Davidson an ***'s Harley Davidson close to me,I have been Leaning towards the Heritage but still open to ideas, I'ts not wrote in stone just yet :-)
I agree with Pagan48, Test ride both and choose from there.
If your going out for the day, or even 2, the Heritage will be great. If your going to be out for a few days or more; The Roadking will be a blessing, esspecially riding two-up.
Good luck choosing and enjoy shopping around.
Thanks for the Reply, i may ask the Lady who will be with me if she would like to go test them both out as well.As i want to take her for a trip on the Dragons Tail. to get to the start of it, is 232 miles from where i am so it's a nice little ride before you start up the tail an end up in Tenn,
