Cool. The Great and Wonderful MOCO must think there is some merit behind them as well now, besides profit motive. But hell, I knew that already. That's why I outfitted both my bikes with them several years ago. And I've been riding ever since with a slight feeling of comfort knowing I'm annoying, er, I mean getting the attention of drivers out on the highways. They're still no replacement for defensive riding. No ones ever said that. They're just one more facet of defensive riding is all. And now the MOCO even thinks they're cool!!! Nothing I like better than being ahead of the curve on things.
Bob couldn't help but think how courteous these motorcyclists are for flashing their lights to signal he can pull out from a side street, until one day . . . . . .
My thoughts exactly. Some cager is gonna take the flashing for "Sure, go ahead! Pull out of that side street" or "Take that left in front of me Mr. Oncoming traffic with left blinker on ". Screw that.

Sure. And when you can flash your lights 4 times a second, that may hold water. Other than that, I'm calling BS on that scenario.
Wow, 11 pages on who likes and who hates modulators. Give it a break guys. We all ride and enjoy it. Lets focus on issues that are really important or helpful to each other. If you don't like modulators don't focus on them. I don't particularly like ape handles but I'm not going to slam someone for it. To each his own. They do make you notice though don't they.
I have a modulator on my bike to extend the bulb life. The way I see it, because the modulator flashes (actually reduces or cuts power to the bulb) it should theoretically extend the life of my headlight bulb two fold or more since the bulb isn't constantly on.
Every time I see a modulator I think of someone with a death wish.
There are just as many drunks and elderly drivers out on those roads during the day as during the night.
Flashing lights are known to cause target fixation. So yeah, let's put a flashing light on the front of my bike. So the drunks or elderly can stare at it as they drift toward it. ( A natural tendency)
Not a bash on elderly drivers. I've just seen hundreds of them that can't seem to separate their steering from the movement of their eyes. They look left they turn left. Rather disturbing.
But hey, if the flashy lights make you feel better go for it!
