Default Insurance Claims Experience in SE MI

I'm now involved with a claim dispute with my insurance company. In April, the policy ends, and I want to switch to a company with solid claims support for me, the insured. For those riders in SE MI, which insurance companies have you found to provide considerate, solid claims support (that is, not encourage the work to be done by some small, local shop rather than the H-D dealer). BTW -- I don't agree with the 'stealer' terminology used on this forum. My experience does not support it, period.

None with my bikes (Thankfully!) but with other issues I hadwith some thefts andE.W. Smith in Wyandotte has never done me wrong. Best rates, excellant coverage and no hassles.

If you would like my agents name PM me.

believe it or not, Stae farm and Allstate are pretty good. Go to one of the offices near you and have a sit down talk with the agent. Makes understanding what you are asking for and recieving in your policy a lot easier. Ask them to tell you about some of their past claims and see what your opinion is. The actual agent is a great help when a claim is put in.

Progressive handed me a check the day they estimated my damage, 2 days after my wreck, came to my house, paid ME to do the labor, cause I told them NObody touched my Bike but me. Also I found some damaged parts the Estimater missed. I sent him the receipts, he cut me another check.I know the ACLU connection and all,, but that was my experience with them

Your experience with Progressive is in stark contrast to mine. Although they cut a check quickly, they would not have the repairs done at the H-D dealer where I wanted them done ('they charge too much'), and Progressive led me to an indy shop where the bike sat for 3 weeks. I then contacted Progressive Claims Adjustment, talked to the adjuster's supervisor, and had the bike moved to another good dealer in my area where the reapirs were done quickly and fairly. Nonetheless, I changed insurance companies as I believe that Progressive claims adjustment process is not up to par.

The premium is not the issue here. It is claims settlement that is the key issue. And I will have work done by the dealership where the repairs were done. They're very good. BTW -- I also do some of my own work.
