carpal tunnel
Had the surgery on my left wrist three weeks ago and its already back to about 80%. I've already been back out on the bike and no problems working the clutch.
Simple operation, takes about 20 minutes. Local anesthetic in the wrist. Then a tourniquet. They wrap the arm real tight to squeeze the blood out then blow up the tourniquet. Put a tent over your arm so you can't see what they are doing. Walked into the OR in street clothes and laid down on the table. Walked out when they were done. I Bs'ed with the two nurses. I had some scar tissue from when I had the surgery 20 years ago so they had to work a little harder at it.
I am absolutely glad I had it done and recommend it to everyone who's tired of having their hands go to sleep while riding.
Hurt like hell for the first day so I jumped on the Vicoden train for a day, then it didn't matter.
) and pain in my wrist. What kills me is that my entire hand gets ice cold.normally the wrist is painfull and the tingling and numbness in carpal tunnel efects the thumb and the next 2 fingers never the ring or pinkie.
I'm pretty sure I have it in my right wrist. It falls asleep when I'm sleeping and when I'm on the computer it gets tingly and really cold. I haven't been to a doctor yet.

Anyone else out there fighting carpal tunnel? I have been since june and my hands quit falling asleep after wearing wrist splints to bed but I still have lost feeling in two fingers.
Sounds like Carpel Tunnel.
Loosening your grip on the throttle won't help much, though it will provide some relief.
And you're getting numbness in your fingertips too?
Want to avoid some butcher cutting you open and playing around inside your wrists?
Take the heels of your palms and place them together like your praying. Fingertips pointing straight UP. Your forearms should be parallel to the ground and your thumbs should be against your chest. Apply AS MUCH PRESSURE AS YOU CAN to the heels of palms for a slow TEN COUNT. Do this about TWENTY TIMES A DAY. And keep doing it. Also drum your fingers.
At 46, I woke up one morning with no feeling in my thumb and two fingers. I did the above and still do it today. It works. Do the prevention and not the quick fix, it will get you nowhere but cut open.
I'm sure the naysayers will tell you to get the fix done by a doc, but hey, if you continue with the same stuff afterwards, eventually you will need it again!
Okay maybe I don't have carpel tunnel. Does anyone else have their hand get ice cold like mine? Plus I can feel some tingling in my ring & pinky finger. Not as bad as in the thumb and next two but as I sit here right now I have pins & needles in my ring finger also.

I have to agree with grunt. If your hands are cold, that sounds like a circulation problem.
So how long have you and Sean been married ? You knowOut of circulation.OOPS. I don't think that is the poor circulation they are talking about
